What the Work Involves
Both posts under ZSI Great Nicobar Recruitment 2026 carry the same research brief: long-term ecological monitoring of the coral reef in Great Nicobar Island and the interactions within coral reef ecosystems, using integrated approaches. The work spans community ecology, reef ecology, GIS and remotely sensed data, molecular studies, and responses to environmental stress in the context of global change.
Named focus areas are restoration of coral reefs, conservation of threatened coral species and associated fauna, propagation of genotypes with increased resistance, and monitoring of intertidal faunal communities.

- All positions are full-time. Initial appointment is for one year, with reappointment possible based on performance in the field and laboratory
- The assignment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project
- Selected candidates work under the Officer-in-Charge, ZSI, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram
- Travel to ZSI Headquarters, Regional Centres and MoEF&CC, New Delhi is required, and candidates must join immediately after selection
