Eighty of the hundred questions come from the technical subject of the post you applied for. Civil Engineering for Junior Engineer (Civil). Electrical for Junior Engineer (E&M). Food Science for Food Safety Officer. Only twenty questions are general.

So 80% of your marks come from your own subject, and no amount of general studies preparation will carry this paper. Download the syllabus above, find your post in it, and work through that technical section.

The test below covers the 20 marks of General Intelligence and General Awareness that every graduate level post shares. That is the part we can help with, and it is worth having in the bank — but it is one tenth of the questions.

General Instructions

  1. The clock is set at the server. The countdown timer at the top of the screen shows the time remaining. When it reaches zero the test ends by itself — you do not have to submit.
  2. The Question Palette shows the status of every question using these symbols:
    • You have not visited the question yet.
    • You have not answered the question.
    • You have answered the question.
    • You have NOT answered, but have marked it for review.
    • You have answered and also marked it for review.
Marking a question for review only means you want to look at it again. An answered question that is marked for review is still counted in the evaluation.
  3. To answer a question: choose one of the four options, then press Save & Next. To change an answer, select a different option and save again. To remove it, press Clear.
  4. Your answer is saved only when you press Save & Next or Mark for Review & Next. If you jump to another question from the palette without saving, the answer to the question you were on is not kept. This is how the real exam behaves.
  5. Sections appear on the bar above the question. You may move between sections at any time, and after the last question of a section you are taken to the first question of the next one.
  6. Only questions that are saved, or marked for review after answering, are evaluated.
Review this set's questions and answers (opens after you submit the test)

This free practice set from AndamanJobs has 25 questions to be solved in 30 minutes. Every question is listed below with four options. Open Show answer and explanation under a question to see the correct option and why it is correct. Try the timed test above first, then use this list to revise the questions you got wrong.

Marking Is Harsher Than It Looks

Each correct answer earns 2 marks, but each wrong answer costs 0.25. That ratio tempts people into guessing, because the downside looks small next to the upside.

It is still a trap on the technical section. Eighty questions in your own subject will include plenty you half-remember, and half-remembering is exactly where confident wrong answers come from. Our practice set applies the 0.25 penalty so you can find out how disciplined you actually are.

Check the 7th CPC pay matrix for what these posts pay, and the qualification checker for which ones your degree opens up. Other sets: MTS, CHSL, Andaman Police and the Daily Quiz.
