20 questions in 15 minutes on computer applications, terminology, keyboard shortcuts, hardware, software, internet and basic security.
Computer Knowledge is 40 marks in every A&N Police written paper, at both Constable and Sub-Inspector level. It is also the easiest 40 marks in the paper: the syllabus is finite, it needs no aptitude, and a few evenings will carry most of it. Candidates who skip it are handing away a fifth of the paper.
General Instructions
- The clock is set at the server. The countdown timer at the top of the screen shows the time remaining. When it reaches zero the test ends by itself — you do not have to submit.
- The Question Palette shows the status of every question using these symbols:
- You have not visited the question yet.
- You have not answered the question.
- You have answered the question.
- You have NOT answered, but have marked it for review.
- You have answered and also marked it for review.
- To answer a question: choose one of the four options, then press Save & Next. To change an answer, select a different option and save again. To remove it, press Clear.
- Your answer is saved only when you press Save & Next or Mark for Review & Next. If you jump to another question from the palette without saving, the answer to the question you were on is not kept. This is how the real exam behaves.
- Sections appear on the bar above the question. You may move between sections at any time, and after the last question of a section you are taken to the first question of the next one.
- Only questions that are saved, or marked for review after answering, are evaluated.
