What Still Works

Banks have advised customers to use ATMs for cash and Internet Banking, YONO, UPI and other digital channels for transactions during the strike period.

If You Are Applying for a Job This Week

This is the part that matters for anyone with an application in hand. Several recruitments close in the next few days, and a bank strike does not extend an application deadline.

  • Application fees: pay online by UPI, net banking or card rather than by challan at a branch. Government recruitment portals accept all of these.
  • Demand drafts: if a recruitment requires a DD, branch counters may not issue one on strike days. Do not leave this to the last day.
  • Cash: ATMs are working, but they may run dry in the islands over a three-day strike. Withdraw what you need early.

Deadlines falling in this window include HVADA Recruitment on 7 October and the Directorate of Industries posts on 5 October. Everything currently open is under Andaman Govt Jobs.
